About Vacuum Critic

Updated on

Vacuum Critic is an independent buying-guide site for vacuum cleaners. We help you work out which type fits your home and which models are worth a look.

We write for people who just want a vacuum that cleans their floors well, without a pile of jargon.

What we cover

Our guides cover upright, stick, canister and robot vacuums from brands like Shark, Dyson, Bissell, Miele, Eureka, Hoover and Roborock.

We sort the picks by what you clean: hardwood floors, carpet, stairs and pet hair. We also explain suction, brush rolls, filters and bags in plain words.

What we do

For every vacuum we cover, we read the specs, the features and the maker's own information. We also look at what buyers often say after living with one.

Then we turn it into plain guides, side-by-side matchups and clear picks. You can read more on our How we research page.

What we don't do

We don't make or sell vacuums, and no brand pays us to rank its products.

Vacuum Critic is not affiliated with Shark, Dyson, Bissell, Miele or any other maker, and it is not tied to any other website or business.

We don't claim to have tested every vacuum ourselves. When we pick something, we tell you why, based on its specs, its features and buyer feedback.

How we earn money

Some links on this site go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never changes which products we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
